I have never seen the SF film Interstellar, set in 2067.
What I have seen recently is an article (with embedded
videos) showing some of the real events of the ten years of the ‘Dust Bowl’ of the 30’s. The conditions were so awe inspiring and horrifying that footage was used in the film.
I’ll give you the link, but what I didn’t know was that the Dust Bowl was not in fact a natural disaster!
It was the most severe man-made environmental disaster in US history brought on by poor farming methods, particularly the failure to use the ‘Aeolian process’, essential for dry farming practices that prevents wind erosion. The drought and record temperatures exasperated the situation.
We like to learn from our mistakes, but has been suggested that the mistakes of the last fifty years are more silent and deadly.
