Worlds apart – Ghost orbs;
You have probably heard about them, and if you are like me you have a healthy dose of skepticism concerning them while accepting that on rare occasions there might be things we can’t account for.
There are extreme opinions at each end of the ‘orb’ spectrum that seem to state categorically that either every blur, orb, haze or glow is some spiritual entity, or conversely at the other end that not only is it a lot of tosh but spirits don’t exist.
Fortunately most of us are somewhere between these two poles.
Any one that thinks we know or understand everything about our existence is perhaps a trifle optimistic, as generally speaking the more you know the more you realise how little you know. As for the gullible, well I guess they so desperately want it to be true they are willing to suspend every ounce of common sense they posses.
So, what’s with the picture above? I don’t know. I know the theories about dust and moisture. They seem pretty reasonable to me! But here’s my problem, this was taken in Tallinn, Estonia. It was a lovely sunny day and as I walked past the yellow building in the picture I found myself becoming depressed, filled with a dark anxiety. In fact I was so uncomfortable that I waited for the traffic and crossed the road, and then crossed to where you see the picture is taken from. I was feeling better but stared back at the building, and I must have had puzzled expression because another person who was waiting to cross said to me “You should take a picture, that place is more interesting than the churches.” He had spoken in English to me so I guessed the sensible walking shoes had given me away. I dutifully hunted for my camera, and asked him what the building was. As I clicked the picture the traffic to my right stopped and we crossed over. I turned to the man and laughed, “Well, I took the picture, what do I title it?”
“That was the KGB headquarters.” There was a moments silence before he went on. “The local authorities tried to turn it into flats, but even people that don’t know its history don’t like the feel there and won’t buy into it.” He nodded to me and departed, leaving me with a picture that I would much rather not have.
Having had a frustrating experience when trying to delete a picture, I decided to wait till I met up with some friends but I forgot about all it, until about a month later. I was on a ship and had some time to kill so I started sorting the photos.
And there it was. I have never had any blobs, globes, human hazes et cetera EVER. I have had rain drops or sun reflections and so on but never anything like this.
I really have no idea what caused this huge white blob in the picture, but if ever an orb could be justified in existing — this would be it!
